Australian MotoGP star Jack Miller has begrudgingly accepted the decision to abandon Saturday’s qualifying sessions after the windswept Phillip Island circuit was deemed unsafe.
Miller was one of three riders to vote against postponing qualifying until Sunday morning at a snap safety meeting called after Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira was involved in a scary crash caused by a sudden wind gust.
“I’m a believer in riding to the conditions,” Miller said.
“I think you need to understand the conditions and know your limits and, if you crash, this is your fault … it’s not impossible to ride out there,” Miller said.
