A child has died after a truck and three cars collided on the M5 at Sydney.
The accident occurred just east of Belmore Road in Riverwood before 8.20am on Wednesday.
The child, whose age is unknown, died at the scene. Another child in the same car was taken to hospital for treatment.
Aerial footage of the collision site shows a car almost torn in half by a truck on the side of the road, while a cluster of emergency service workers tend to the injured drivers.
The drivers of all four vehicles – two men and two women – were taken to hospital for testing and treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.
All lanes of the M5 heading into Sydney CBD were closed and heavy delays were expected in the area.
