A former beauty queen and TV presenter has been jailed for 14 months after withholding more than $1.7 million in GST payments on property developments in Victoria.
Simone Semmens was found guilty of 10 charges of dishonestly withholding tax over a 10-year period after a two-week trial in the Victorian County Court.
The former Miss Victoria winner and newsreader was on Thursday jailed for 34 months, to be released after she serves 14 months and ordered to be of good behaviour for two years after her release.
