Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are in an Australian hospital after contracting coronavirus.
The actor issued a statement on Thursday saying he and his wife had felt run down with fevers and body aches, and so took themselves to hospital for testing.
“We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too,” Hanks wrote on Instagram.
“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”
The pair are in Australia while Hanks films an upcoming Elvis biopic. They are reportedly in hospital on the Gold Coast.
Hanks said he and his wife would be “tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires”.
“Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?” he wrote.

As the global coronavirus pandemic escalates, Hanks and Ms Wilson are not the only famous names to be stricken by the deadly infection.
Italian footballer Daniele Rugani is among them. He plays for Serie A side Juventus, and is said to be asymptomatic.
Nonetheless, the club has “suspended all competitive activities” since his positive test result.
Italy has one of the world’s worst outbreaks of the deadly virus and the national government has taken the unusual step of putting the country’s 60 million people into lockdown.
In the US, NBA star Rudy Gobert is in hospital with what has been described only as an “illness”.
The Utah Jazz centre tried to make a point about overreaction and fear about the COVID-19 outbreak at a media conference on Monday. He leaned over and touched everything in sight before he left – including all of the microphones and recorders.
