A successful Native Title ruling in 2011 granted the Quandamooka people "non-exclusive access" to almost 23,000 hectares of land on North Stradbroke Island and "exclusive access" to 2240 hectares near three townships. However, recent poor communication is frustrating the shift from sand mining to the future.
