Sydney possible are investigating a shooting in the CBD overnight that media are reporting is part of a gang feud between warring crime families.
About 10.25pm on Thursday emergency services were called to Bridge Street, near George Street, following reports a man had been shot.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he died a short time later.
While the victim has not been formally identified, multiple media outlets have named him as Bilal Hamze, who is linked to the Brothers for Life crime gang.
A crime scene has been established and the homicide squad is investigating.
The Daily Telegraph reports Hamze knew he had a contract on his head and was staying in the CBD when he was executed by a gunman.
